NAPS DRUG UNIT ASSISTED BY OPP IN KASHECHEWAN DRUG SEIZURE PDF Print E-mail

(Kashechewan, ON) On February 20, 2018, Nishnawbe Aski Police (NAPS) Drug Enforcement Unit received information from the Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit (OPP – CSCU) regarding a drug trafficking investigation originating in Kingston, Ontario and destined for Kashechewan First Nation.

The NAPS Kashechewan Detachment, assisted by the NAPS Drug Enforcement Unit, seized approximately 3.2 ounces of Marihuana and seventy-five (75) Oxycodone pills.

An adult female from Kashechewan First Nation has been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The female was subsequently released on conditions and will appear in court in Kashechewan on March 29, 2018.

Kashechewan First Nation is located approximately 500 km northwest of Timmins, Ontario.
